On May 17, it’s reported by Poland Press Agency that Latvia segment of Rail Baltica would start being constructed in the bottom of 2018 in Riga, capital of Latvia. Government had got 238 million euros’ fund and 54 million euros’ national budget.
It’s also reported that detailed technical research of Rail Baltica had already been finished and government proposed 2 alternative routes. Council of Ministers will make decision in July or August, 2016 and after that, construction and land expropriation work will be started.
Besides, project design work of urban history center, railway station of international airport and relevant infrastructure in Riga will be designed this year.
Before construction of engineering, line route, technical standard and investment program will be specifically studied.
Feasible research, assessment and preliminary design will be also carried out. Construction quality ensures project security, so previous preparation work is necessary.
