On December 8, 2017 the University of Missouri System Board of Curator approved a new $6.5 million lab project at Missouri University of Science and Technology. The Advanced Construction and Materials Laboratory (ACML) will create a new home for the research and development of the construction materials by significantly adding to the facilities involved in the design, testing, monitoring and evaluation of new and repaired structures. After completion, the ACML will expand the High-bay Structures Laboratory in Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall and provides 16,000 square feet of research space for the development and the test of new construction materials and methods. ACML will also provide support for the research of the university that focuses on the base infrastructure and sustainable development, including the reconstruction of highways, bridges, tunnels, rail, airports, port, water navigation channels and also utility infrastructure.
