November 13, the signing ceremony of China-Laos Railway project held in Beijing, which marks China-Laos Railway officially entering implementation phase and lays foundation for two countries’ further cooperation on later construction.
China-Laos Railway is from Kunming, China to Vientiane, Laos. It’s about 417 kilometers long. This project is constructed by China and it adopts international technical standards to reach I-class, one-line design and electric traction. The speed of passenger transport is 160 kilometers per hour and freight transport is 120 kilometers per hour. It totally takes up 3058 hectares area and has little influence on environment and society.
The segment of China has been constructed now and it will connect with segment in Laos later on, it is predicted to be opened to traffic in 2020. At that time, the prototype of pan-Asia railway will be formed.
China-Laos Railway crosses the southwest of China, there are plenty of mountains and rivers, so tunnels and bridges are many: 76 tunnels and 154 bridges (including two big bridges over Mekong River). Passing through several scenic spots, it is predicted to set up 31 stations, which is convenient for people’s traveling. While based on complex geological conditions, the security and supporting effect are more important, so rock bolt system is quite necessary.
The products in Sinorock are adopted different materials to suit for several construction conditions, for example: self drilling rock bolt applies in weak and broken conditions, stainless self drilling rock bolt and duplex coating rock bolt suit for conditions which are influenced by underground water or chemical corrosive objects, expansion shell rock bolt is applied for temporary and permanent support in relatively good geological conditions, fiberglass rock bolt is especially suit for fully-mechanized coal mining.
After the completion of China-Laos Railway, it will not only promote Laos’ economical and social development, improve the transport efficiency and level, but also instill new vitality into bilateral relations and create plenty of employment opportunity.
